Low awareness of the environmental impact of mass-produced ceramics, which often uses harmful chemicals and unsustainable materials. With millions of items produced daily, the need for more sustainable alternatives is critical.

The Natural Material Studio has created an innovative, circular ceramics concept made from star restaurant Noma’s kitchen leftover shells, called “Shellware”. The studio aims to bring this product closer to the everyday consumer market.

Therefore, the challenge for this project is: How can we make a start with bringing circular ceramics onto the everyday consumer market?
